Seth Johnson
England
Seth was spotted by the club as an 11-year-old following
a pre-season trip to Dawlish and after coming through the
Crewe Academy, he went on to make 102 appearances for the
club before joining Derby County for a club record £3.4
million. Whilst at Crewe Alexandra he represented England
at Under-18 and Under-21 level before making the step up
to the senior squad in November 2000 for a friendly encounter
with Italy. Seth came on as a second half substitute in the
Della Alpi Stadium.
He later joined Leeds United for £7 million in October
2001 but injuries hampered his progress at the Elland Road
club and he moved back to Derby in 2005. Johnson also made
15 appearances for the England Under-21s, making his debut
against Luxembourg in 1999 whilst still a Crewe Alexandra player.
