Two Crewe Alexandra F.C Girls Centre Excellence head to Germany

Two talented youngsters from Crewe Alexandra F.C Girls Centre of Excellence have been selected for the England Under 15 squad, which will embark on their first ever overseas tour.
The Alex Under 14 captain, Sherry McCue and midfielder Hollie Kelsh are part of an 18-women squad who will set off for Frankfurt, Germany on August 9th to prepare for a double header against old rivals, Germany with games on the 12th and 14th.
The girls, who have been with the club from the age of 10, were part of last season’s highly successful Crewe Under 14 squad and were closely monitored throughout the season by a number of England scouts.
Crewe Alexandra Girls Centre of Excellence Director Aidan Callan said, ‘ This will be an unbelievable experience for the girls and it is fully deserved. Both girls obviously have tremendous ability but also a real desire to learn and improve and have ultimately been rewarded with this International call-up.’

CREWE ALEXANDRA GIRLS CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE
The F.A Centre of Excellence gives talented female footballers from the Cheshire area the opportunity to receive quality coaching and to play against top class opposition on a regular basis.
Our centre forms a major part of the FA’s female player pathway and we fully adhere to the long -term player development philosophy (LTPD). Girls are given the opportunity to develop within a structured environment under the guidance of high quality FA qualified coaches who use the latest coaching methods.
Our players are also given the best possible advice on key factors such as nutrition, injury prevention and match analysis.
England scouts regularly monitor the girls progress with a view to exceptional players attending regional talent camps and hopefully going on to represent their country!
The centre consists of 4 squads, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16. The squads train twice a week and take part in a 20 match fixture programme with games taking place on a Saturday. Opposition will include FA Centres within the North West area including Liverpool, Everton, Blackburn amongst others. Additional games are added to the programme with fixtures and festivals against other clubs throughout the country.
We also offer ‘girls only’ coaching sessions for girls as young as four, who are just starting out on their footballing journey!
